The Most Instagramable Shops in Williamsburg, Brooklyn
Just got back from a short trip to New York for a friend's wedding! Every time I visit my hometown in the Hudson Valley, I try to also visit NYC as it's only an hour and a half drive. Brooklyn is my fave place in the city, so much charm and magic. I just love the vibe and how everything is so walkable - I walked from my Airbnb to each of these shops in just a few hours. Even though I froze my butt off, it was actually v nice to be able to leave the house without having to jump in a car to get to where I needed to go. Keep scrolling for some of the adorbs places I visited while staying in Williamsburg!
Before/After: Our Old Apartment
I don't know about you guys, but I love me some before/afters. I'm always so inspired to see how someone takes a bare, unattractive space and transforms it into something beautiful. I wanted to share with you some before/afters of our old apartment - but a backwards version! Since I don't have proper "before" pics from when we first moved in, I took a bunch of pics a couple weeks ago after we had moved all of our furniture out. So the "before" in this case is the space decorated, and the "after" is the empty room. Hope you enjoy!
My Boho Bedroom Inspo
We're slowly but surely settling into our new house! There are still a few boxes lying around, filled with things we're not quite sure where to put yet - but we're getting there. Our house is nothing like the old apartment, so there are a lot of things that don't quite fit/work in the new space. The dining room is empty since we don't have any furniture for it yet, so it's pretty much been a holding ground for all the stuff we're still deciding what to do with. The room we've come farthest along with so far is our bedroom - lil sneak peek of it in the pic above. We get such beautiful sunlight in this room thanks to 3 windows, I'm in love! We haven't hung any curtains yet (all our old apartment curtains are the wrong dimensions) and 3 of the 4 walls are completely bare, so we still have a ways to go. I want our new house to be a bit simpler than our old place though - less clutter, more calm. Keep scrolling to see some of the peaceful, gorge bedrooms that have been serving as my inspo lately.
Valentine BB's
Can't believe I'm celebrating my 7th Valentine's Day with Eddie, that curly head bb! We don't go cray on v-day, some years we've even just stayed at home and enjoyed a low-key dinner at our place. But we've been so busy with work and the move to our new house recently, we decided to enjoy a night out this year. I'm not sure where we're going, but Eddie made rezzies somewhere he says is "perfect", so I'm excited kakaka
Manhattan Beach Strolls
Eddie and I always love going to Manhattan Beach - it's only a short drive from us but feels v different from the usual LA scene. A gorge, relaxed beach town with the most beautiful houses! Wanted to share a few pics we took on a stroll through the neighborhoods during golden hour xx
Our Home Journey
I have some v exciting news to share with you guys - Eddie and I are moving! We just signed our new lease and the big move in date is in just a few days. Wowza! I absolutely can't WAIT to share our new home with all of you, I have so many ideas for each and every nook already. If you follow me on Pinterest you've probably noticed a flurry of new boards and a million inspo pins in the past couple weeks. But I wanted to take the time to give the place we've called home for the past 5 and a half years a lil love before we set out on our new home adventure. I also dug up some seriously cray pics of our place when we first moved in! So take a walk with me down memory lane, and keep scrolling for a little back story on Eddie and I.
Exploring Borrego Springs
Up until last month, I had never even heard of Borrego Springs. I was chatting with a friend about how I wanted to go on a lil getaway to a California city I'd never been before, when he mentioned this darling desert town. Just a 3 hour drive from LA and surrounded by the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, it was just the change of scenery Eddie and I were looking for. With a population of under 4,000 people, this small town has no big chains and is California's first Dark Sky Community, which means it's dedicated to protecting the night sky from light pollution. Star gazer heaven! While we did a lot of relaxing at our amazing hotel, we also ventured out to explore our surroundings. Come take a look at some of our adventures!
Salvation Mountain
I finally made it to this folk art masterpiece! Leonard Knight's Salvation Mountain has been on my must-viz list for a while now, ever since I first saw photos of it on Instagram. An explosion of color in the middle of the dez, it really is a sight to see. Located just east of the Salton Sea and about a 3 and a half hour drive from Los Angeles, it's a trek to get to this little piece of magic - but a great spot to check out when visiting Palm Springs, as it's only about an hour and a half drive from there.
