Borrego Springs: Where To Stay
Eddie and I started a tradition last year of going on a lil Christmas getaway to a California city we'd never been to before. We stayed in a darling Airstream in Temecula last year, and this year we decided to check out the beautiful desert town of Borrego Springs, located in the northeast area of San Diego county. As much as I love LA, it's always so refreshing to get out of the big city and take a few days to relax and recharge - and Borrego Springs is the perf place to do just that. Surrounded by Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, and being California's first Dark Sky Community, you won't find any big chains in this charming small town. I wanted to share our experience staying at the Borrego Valley Inn with you, and spoiler alert - it was wonderful. Keep scrolling for lots of pics from our stay!
Borrego Valley Inn
The moment we pulled up to the Inn and were greeted to this front door, I immediately fell in love. Are you kidding me with that color?! Yas please.
Everything about this Inn was absolutely beautiful. From the perfectly landscaped courtyard filled with all different types of cactus and drought resistant plants, to our room, and the surrounding mountain views. So tranquil and lovely, I was honestly in heaven!
We stayed in one of the Smoketree Deluxe King rooms, and it was so comfortable! With a little mini kitchen complete with wine glasses, dinnerware, bottled water, and coffee maker, we felt right at home.
Even the ceiling fan was beautiful. Can you even??
I love equipale furniture so so much, I squealed when we opened our door and saw these two chairs. And those pillows! Uh-maze-ing.
We even had our own private patio - isn't it darling? There were two chaise lounges in addition to two other chairs and a table outside to relax, star gaze, or enjoy a meal.
I had hearts in my eyes every time we went outside - all the beautiful plants! And especially all the prickly bbs. The landscapers really did such an amazing job, you feel like you're in your own private desert paradise.
This tree in the courtyard had me in love. I believe it's called "Desert Museum", which is actually perf given the setting.
Breakfast is included every morning at the Inn, and this is where I enjoyed mine, cozied up in front of the fire. Such a nice, cheerful way to start the day - I miss it!
The attention to detail here at the Inn is really remarkable - everywhere you turn there's another unique, interesting plant, or design element.
This view! Can't beat those desert sunsets.
The Inn has not one, but two separate pools and hot tubs - all with gorgeous mountain views.
I mean even the bird feeder was a mini work of art. Obsessed!
Palm Canyon Hotel & RV Resort
While we didn't stay at the Palm Canyon Hotel & RV Resort, we stopped by to check it out as it was Wild West themed and amaze looking. Such a fun place!
How cool is this front desk sitch? That chandelier, the skull, the photograph - love it all.
Lots of fun photo opps here, as you can imagine - kakaka
We saw a pair of these wild mountain goats out on a hike in the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park! Such an amazing experience, I'd never seen one out in the wild before.
These Airstream & vintage trailer setups were so beautiful! The bougainvillea, mountain views, lil fire pits - heart eyes. You can rent one here at the hotel just like you would a room, such a fun way to experience the desert.
