Solo Trip to Ojai
I’ve been craving an Ojai getaway for a while now. It’s been too long since my last viz to this magical California town, so I drove up recently for a lil overnight solo trip. Only 90 minutes northwest of Los Angeles but so different in terms of vibe - slower paced with a beautiful artistic small town feel. I always feel relaxed and happy in Ojai and it’s also the perf getaway destination for solo travelers, which I can’t recommend enough! When you take a trip by yourself you get to do, see, and eat whatever you want, whenever you want. I’ve found that I have more conversations with the locals when I’m by myself, and I just love exploring a town at my own pace. I observe more and learn more, about the town and about myself. My last solo trip was in the beginning of the year to Los Alamos, so I have definitely been overdue. When Eddie told me he’d have to work the weekend I had planned, I knew this would be the perf opportunity!
Laguna Beach House
Laguna Beach has been a favorite escape of mine and Eddie’s when we’re in the mood for some relaxation and fresh ocean air. Which is pretty much all time, let’s be honest! Beautiful beaches, gorge boutiques, yummy cafes, and only an hour away from our house in Los Angeles makes it an easy breezy lil getaway. We had the pleasure of staying at Laguna Beach House for the first time and it was such a delight. Sharing some highlights from our trip!
Death Valley, Nevada
Eddie turned the big 3-0 a few weeks ago and I wanted to take him on a road trip to celebrate! We’ve never explored Nevada outside of Las Vegas, so we decided a getaway to Death Valley would be new and fun. Filled with ghost towns, saloons, sand dunes, and more, we headed out for a weekend of desert exploration. Sharing where we stayed and what we saw!
Exploring the Darling Town of Los Alamos, CA
If you’re in the mood for a quaint lil California getaway filled with delish food, gem-filled antique shops, and amaze wines, Los Alamos is for you. A sweet, tiny town in Santa Barbara county with an Old West rancher vibe, the majority of shops and restaurants cover a 3 block stretch on the main road of Bell Street. You could easily explore everything in one day, but I’d recommend taking it slow and soaking in all the goodness - unwind and take your time! I was looking to do just that, and since Eddie had to work this particular weekend, I decided to take a little solo trip and explore the town by myself. Where I stayed, ate, drank, and shopped below!
Glamping Eco Tent in Vista, CA
It’s tradition for Eddie and I to go on a little getaway around Christmas. It serves as a nice escape from the Los Angeles holiday craze, and doubles as a birthday trip for moi (I’m a Christmas eve bb!). Last year we went to Borrego Springs, and the year before we went to Temecula. This year, we headed to Vista in San Diego County, where I booked us a stay at the most darling Eco Tent Airbnb.
Borrego Springs: Where To Stay
Eddie and I started a tradition last year of going on a lil Christmas getaway to a California city we'd never been to before. We stayed in a darling Airstream in Temecula last year, and this year we decided to check out the beautiful desert town of Borrego Springs, located in the northeast area of San Diego county. As much as I love LA, it's always so refreshing to get out of the big city and take a few days to relax and recharge - and Borrego Springs is really the perf place to do just that. Surrounded by Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, and being California's first Dark Sky Community, you won't find any big chains in this charming small town. I wanted to share our experience staying at the Borrego Valley Inn with you, and spoiler alert - it was wonderful. Keep scrolling for lots of pics from our stay!
Outside Lands 2017
Still coming down from the amaze weekend we had at Outside Lands Music + Art Festival in San Francisco! Any event where the setting is the gorgeous Golden Gate Park is A+ in my book. Our first time at this fest was last summer, Eddie and I only went for 1 day and we loved it so much we decided to do all 3 days this year. We were able to meet up with a bunch of friends there too, it was super fun running around and dancing with them.
