Moorten Botanical Garden

You guys, I finally made it to cactus heaven. I've been wanting to visit the magical Moorten Botanical Garden for a while now after seeing so many glorious photos on Instagram, and I have to say it's even more stunning in person! We were greeted by Clark Moorten when we arrived, the son of the garden's original creators and now the curator himself - he gave us a little map of the grounds and off we went! When you walk through the garden's entrance, a darling path takes you through the cactus-filled wonderland. There are over 3,000 examples of desert cacti and other desert plants grouped by geographic regions including Arizona, Baja, Colorado, Mojave, Sonora, South Africa, South America, and Texas. At the end of the path is the jaw dropping Cactarium. It really is breathtaking! So many amazing and rare lil bbs, it's a prickly jungle in there. I highly recommend a visit if you're a cactus lover and planning a Palm Springs trip in the future. You won't regret it!
