Studio Dreams in Brooklyn
The moment I saw a pic of this darling Williamsburg studio on Airbnb, I knew I HAD to stay here. That exposed brick wall! The huge window! Those market lights! Hello dreamville. Not to mention the super fun touch of a projector instead of a TV, and also the drop dead gorge city views from the rooftop. Needless to say, I hit the "book" button reaaal quick.
The studio is in a perfect location right near the Brooklyn bridge. There are Citi bikes avail to rent right outside the building, but I was able to walk to all the shops/cafes in the neighborhood no prob. Also, the rooftop at sunset seriously took my breath away. I was up there all by myself and it was a magical moment. Freezing, but magical!
The night before I checked in, I met up with my two long-time bffs and we had the ultimate reunion bar hopping and laughing the night away - but unfortch the result of that merriment was a full day hangover from hell. Woops! So I spent the whole day cozying it up in bed binge watching Parks & Rec on the projector. Perf hangover cure, tbh.
I do want to be completely honest with you guys though - there were some aspects of the Airbnb I was disappointed about. Firstly, the owner wasn't able to book the housekeeper to come in and clean till after I had already checked in. So when I checked in at 1pm it was obviously unclean, and the housekeeper didn't come till 5pm. Also, the sheets had not been changed before I arrived, and the housekeeper didn't know where clean ones were kept at first. She eventually found some but there was a moment there where I thought I was gonna have to sleep on the couch. Eek! There also v weirdly were no trash cans in the apartment. Not even in the bathroom, or in the kitchen. Strange!
Hopefully those few disappointments were a one-off and don't happen frequently to guests, but you know I have to keep it real with you! This gorge space might be worth it to some people anyway, regardless of those hiccups.
