Walking in a Cactus Wonderland
Get used to this magical cacti land, because you're going to be seeing a lot of it from now on! A couple months ago I didn't even know South Coast Botanic Garden existed, now I'm an annual member and plan on visiting/photographing it v regularly. Seriously, it's botanical heaven here. And right in Los Angeles! Palos Verdes to be exact. There are all different types of gardens here, but the Desert Garden is my fave. Cacti, euphorbia, aloes, and other succulent bbs of all shapes and sizes. Take a walk with me through this prickly dream land.
I think what's most amazing about SCBG is that it's one of the world’s first botanical gardens to be developed over a sanitary landfill. Can you even?! From literal crap, this beauty grew. Such a wonderful and restorative urban oasis nestled among the hustle and bustle of this crazy city. It's so peaceful here, you forget you're even in LA!
I still can't believe this heaven exists not far from where we live. And since Eddie and I are annual members now, we can visit whenever we want. Yaaaaaaas! Highly recommend visiting for yourself if you're an Angeleno, or if you're planning a viz here soon. You won't regret it!
