Cinespia: Wayne's World
It's finally Cinespia season again - party time, excellent! For those non-Angelinos, Cinespia is an awesome organization that hosts screenings of classic films in Los Angeles, the most popular series being their Spring/Summer weekly showings at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery. What could be more fun than getting together with friends, dressing up as your fave movie characters, having a big ol' boozy picnic, and watching an amazing film at night in a cemetery?! If that's not enough, there's always a tip top themed photo booth (case in point, above pic LOL) in addition to a DJ spinning jams all night. Party on!
I lobbb Wayne's World (who doesn't??) so I was super psyched that it was one of the movie picks this season. It being the 25th anniversary celebration of the film made it even more special! I obvi had to bust out my Wavves World hat, and how funny is this - Eddie and I swapped our Urban Outfitters shirts so I could be Wayne and he could be Garth - LOL. He wore my big comfy blue flannel, and I wore his black tee. SCHWING!
When we got there we staked out our prime seating location and then setup our lil boho picnic spread. Goat cheese, fig crackers, grapes, salt & vinegar chips, dark chocolate covered cranberries, and obvi a bottle of red wine were our snacks of choice. And what picnic would be complete without crystals and lanterns??
Such a fun atmosphere, surrounded by palm trees and other picnic-ers having a great time as the sun sets. Once it was fully dark, the dj finished their set and the Cinespia founder came out to introduce the film. The director of Wayne's World, Penelope Spheeris, even came to the screening and spoke to us all about making the movie before it began. How cool is that?!
