Cozy Cabin Escape in Idyllwild
One of my fave things about California is all the different climates you can experience within just a 2 hour drive from Los Angeles. Beaches, deserts, snow, mountains - this gorge state has it all. Iβm always pining for a lil getaway and this time I set my sights on Idyllwild - a small town nestled in the San Jacinto mountains among the pines. It was my first time visiting and I really fell in love with this beautiful forest village! Especially the Airbnb Eddie and I stayed at. The owners have created such a wonderful cabin sanctuary, and the attention to detail is impeccable. Itβs such a special place that we actually spent most of our time in Idyllwild enjoying the cozy home!
Weekend Getaway to Solvang
You guys know I love a California weekend getaway! Solvang is one of the loveliest in my opinion - just the sweetest little Danish village in Santa Ynez Valley, roughly 2 and a half hours north of Los Angeles. Windmills, twinkle lights, tree-lined streets, darling boutiques and wine tasting galore. What's not to love? Eddie and I visited once before a few years back, but this was my first time spending a few nights in town. My mom and sister were visiting from New York and we made it a fun lil girls weekend. I wanted to share with you all the things we did and where we stayed, for you to enjoy your own getaway in this presh town! Keep scrolling for all the sights.
Coachella 2018
My 6th Coachella in the books! Eddie and I always have so much fun at music fests - I just love all those good musical vibes. Lotsa dancing, singing, nom-ing, and drinkin. I wanted to share with you some pics we took during the weekend, hope you enjoy!
LA to NY Style
I usually travel to my home state of New York twice a year to visit family and friends, but this last trip was my first winter visit in a while! I hate the cold so I try and avoid those harsh winter months. Living in Los Angeles has spoiled me with the year round beautiful weather, but one of my good friends got married in NY on St. Patrick's day and I def couldn't miss it. I thought it would be fun to show you how I transition outfits from LA to NY, so I partnered up with MATTER to style one of their gorge outfits two ways.
Studio Dreams in Brooklyn
The moment I saw a pic of this darling Williamsburg studio on Airbnb, I knew I HAD to stay here. That exposed brick wall! The huge window! Those market lights! Hello dreamville. Not to mention the super fun touch of a projector instead of a TV, and also the drop dead gorge city views from the rooftop. Needless to say, I hit the "book" button reaaal quick.
The Most Instagramable Shops in Williamsburg, Brooklyn
Just got back from a short trip to New York for a friend's wedding! Every time I visit my hometown in the Hudson Valley, I try to also visit NYC as it's only an hour and a half drive. Brooklyn is my fave place in the city, so much charm and magic. I just love the vibe and how everything is so walkable - I walked from my Airbnb to each of these shops in just a few hours. Even though I froze my butt off, it was actually v nice to be able to leave the house without having to jump in a car to get to where I needed to go. Keep scrolling for some of the adorbs places I visited while staying in Williamsburg!
Exploring Borrego Springs
Up until last month, I had never even heard of Borrego Springs. I was chatting with a friend about how I wanted to go on a lil getaway to a California city I'd never been before, when he mentioned this darling desert town. Just a 3 hour drive from LA and surrounded by the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, it was just the change of scenery Eddie and I were looking for. With a population of under 4,000 people, this small town has no big chains and is California's first Dark Sky Community, which means it's dedicated to protecting the night sky from light pollution. Star gazer heaven! While we did a lot of relaxing at our amazing hotel, we also ventured out to explore our surroundings. Come take a look at some of our adventures!
Salvation Mountain
I finally made it to this folk art masterpiece! Leonard Knight's Salvation Mountain has been on my must-viz list for a while now, ever since I first saw photos of it on Instagram. An explosion of color in the middle of the dez, it really is a sight to see. Located just east of the Salton Sea and about a 3 and a half hour drive from Los Angeles, it's a trek to get to this little piece of magic - but a great spot to check out when visiting Palm Springs, as it's only about an hour and a half drive from there.
