A Peaceful Getaway to Palm Springs
My last viz to Palm Springs was over the summer for Splash House (a music fest) with Eddie, and it was the exact opposite of peaceful and relaxing - ha! Lots of fun (maybe too much fun judging by the headache afterwards, whoops) with dancing, drinking, and running around between hotels to catch our fave acts. When I got to thinking, I realized itβs been years since I drove to Palm Springs for anything other than music festivals or parties - which is funny because itβs the ultimate California destination to slow down and relax! So I decided to take a break from my newly self-employed whirlwind for a peaceful solo getaway to this dreamy town.
I stayed at the absolutely stunning LβHorizon Resort & Spa - my first time! Full disclosure, my stay was sponsored by HotelTonight for an Instagram campaign - but all opinions are my own, as always :)
I couldnβt have dreamed of a better spot to unwind. I was in a constant state of swoooooon walking through the grounds! From the magnificent heated pool, adorbs lil private bungalows, to the dreamy restaurant on site - such a beautiful oasis.
I felt right at home in my lil bungalow. Floor to ceiling windows, white brick walls, wood floors, and my own private back patio with a grapefruit tree. Seriously kept pinching myself! The icing on the cake? The cookies they brought to my room every evening. I spent my nights cuddled up here cozy in bed drinking wine and snacking while I watched old movies on Netflix. Made me so happy!!
Brekky out at the pool cabanas. This view! I soaked it all in.
The resort is only about a 15 minute walk from Moorten Botanical Garden, so I decided to venture out on foot on this beautiful day. On my way I passed by the Hotel California - isnβt it a dream? Iβve never stayed there but gosh is it a beaut.
Moortenβs is an absolute must-viz when in Palm Springs. Really any botanical gardens are a must -viz for me bahaha. But this one is super special because itβs home to the world famous Cactarium!
Youβve probably seen photos of the Cactarium before, but pics really donβt do it justice. It takes my breath away with every viz, Iβm like a kid in a candy store. So many rare and exotic prickly bbs from all over!
Stapelia!!! Technically not cactus but makes me so happy they were included in here. I love these stinky starfish demagorgons so much.
For lunch I headed downtown to eat at Farm. A tucked away gem with the loveliest patio and yummy food.
If youβre in the mood for some unique shopping, head to The Shops at Thirteen Forty Five. Inside is filled with all sorts of different brands and boutiques, selling vintage pieces, art, home goods, clothing, and more. Soukie Modern is one of those shops, specializing in vintage Moroccan rugs, textiles, and home accessories.
Moroccan rug paradise! I had the loveliest convo with Taib, one of the Soukie Modern owners, about these special pieces. He even snapped a pic for me in their hanging chair!! That peachy rug hanging on the wall looks so much like mine, obvi I had to whip out some photos to show him :) He told me my rug was most likely woven in the 70βs and that made me so happy you donβt even know. 70βs bb!!! And that itβs actually a Boujaad rug, not a Beni Mguild like I previously thought!
Such a relaxing two days, taking things slow and sightseeing at my own pace. I just love a good solo trip! Thanks Palm Springs, for letting me decompress and making me smile with all your beauty.
