Patio Spring Refresh
This post was sponsored by Target. All opinions expressed are my own - as always!
Itโs patio season! Spring always brings a sense of renewal and positive vibes for me - the weather warming up, flowers in bloom, more time spent outside. So with the first day of spring tomorrow, it felt like the perf time to refresh our lil outdoor space. Wanted to share with you a few of my fave Target pieces, as well as my thoughts behind the design and ways you can recreate something similar in your own home!
Right when I set eyes on this stunning coffee table and matching side table, I knew I had to have them. Theyโre not what you'd normally expect for patio pieces, and the fact that theyโre rust resistant and made specifically for the outdoors makes me so happy! Living in a small space, I'm always trying to find places for extra storage - I love how I can store pillows or cushions in these tables whenever theyโre not in use.

I knew I wanted a fun pop of color for the outdoor rug, and I fell in love with this medallion print. Outdoor rugs are one of the easiest things to clean - just hose it down and itโs good as new!
In order to not clash with the beautiful blue of the rug, I decided to keep the rest of the furniture pretty neutral. Iโm a big fan of wicker and rattan, so I knew I wanted my seating to be made from those natural materials. This loveseat is so charming, and I appreciate how the cushions are made from 100% recycled materials. The fabric of the cushions is also weather resistant and easy to clean, which is always a plus.
No space is complete without cozy accents! Throw blankets and pillows are a necessity for me, and these two are so soft and lovely.
How sweet is this bistro set? I knew these wicker chairs would go perfectly with the little round table - I love how it looks!

My two little nieces love to plop down on the floor to color or read, so I try to always have floor pillows for them. These two are over-sized and super comfy - they got a seal of approval from the girls!
You know no space of mine is complete without plants - and lots of them! The umbrella helps to shade not only us when itโs sunny out, but also the plants that donโt like too much direct sun. I found so many beautiful outdoor planters on the Target site. The ones I chose have drainage holes at the bottom, which makes this plant mama happy :)
Some tips for designing your outdoor space:
Try and choose pieces specifically made for the outdoors so that they can weather the elements and last a long time!
Look for pieces that work double duty, such as tables, benches, or ottomans with hidden storage for cushions & pillows.
Mix and match materials! Instead of going with an all-wicker, all-wood, or all-metal patio set, switch things up a bit. Wicker + metal, wood + wicker, metal + wood are all attractive options.
Have seating options - some people like having a chair to themselves, others like to snuggle up together on a loveseat, and others like to plop down on a pillow/cushion/pouf for a laid back floor hang.
Add ambiance to your outdoor space by incorporating plants, candles, lanterns, or twinkly string lights to set the mood.
Unless your outdoor space is naturally shaded, add a nice big umbrella to make sure you can enjoy yourself on even the sunniest days. Bonus points if you get a solar powered one like ours - it lights up at night!
Outdoor rugs are so fun and easy to clean. They really make an outdoor space feel like an extension of your homeโs interior. Go bold with pops of color and patterns, or keep it nice and neutral. The options are endless!
